Wooohooo!!

Well...today is Tuesday, the day they were going to know about the Legion and if it was going to be available for our reception! Great news...they are waiting at least until 48 hours after our reception to tear it down! :-) We will be the last event held in there!

Lets see...we also officially have a caterer! I have been trying to get ahold of the transportation service for us, however we can't seem to get our schedule together! I also ordered a couple of things for bridesmaids gifts. I am also going to meet with the organist soon to go through ideas for music for the service. Things are slowly but surely coming together!

An Update...

Well...still no final word on the Burwell Legion. The final decision should be coming any day! We are kind of sick of the run around though and so think the idea of moving elsewhere is looking better and better!

Today I took some time to tie ribbons on the bubbles. I only have 2 of the colors of ribbon though, so I only am half done! When most weddings have one or two main colors, not us...I'm weird and hopefully my spectrum of colors turns out looking good in the end!

We might be eating & dancing on the street!

For a little while now there has been talk in Burwell about renovation of the Legion Club. The plans they are talking involve tearing it down and rebuilding it in the same spot. I will be the first to admit, yes it does need it...but how about next year!? I talked to the manager of the Legion tonight to find out from her that they are tenatively looking at starting this project in August or September. Now I know sometimes construction can be quick, however I've never seen a building be demolished and ready to host a reception in 1 - 2 months!! So...right now we don't know what we are going to do, maybe we will be eating and dancing under the stars! We will know more in a few days, however I am thinking we are probably going to have to be finding a new reception site, and with 6 1/2 months to go that is the LAST thing I want to be doing at this time!

Craft Project #1 - Card Box

Since I've started this wedding preparation I've vowed to save as much money as I can by doing things myself. Today I did my first of many craft projects on the list! A friend of ours gave us their card box from their wedding, and although her colors were pinks she said to rip off their decorations and redo it to resemble our colors. Today I did just that. I wish I would have taken a 'before' picture so you could see the difference, BUT I forgot :) Originally it had some white frilly stuff where the red ribbon is, pink ribbon on the top part of the layers and little pink flowers equally spaced all the way around each layer! I used the red ribbon, which is the color the bridesmaid dresses will be, and a combination of all of the flowers that will make up the bouquets and boutineers. I think it still might need some finishing touches, but overall I think its cute!

Dang sickness!

This weekend Ewing and Burwell boys participated in the State Basketball Tournament in Lincoln. I worked on Wednesday night and then was going to head down Thursday for the festivities. However, over the last week I have developed this 'mega-cold'. I went to the doctor on Tuesday hoping to get some miracle drugs and feel better by Thursday, but each day has made me feel worse and worse! I really am disappointed I didn't get to go to state to watch the festivities, and secondly I had a HUGE wedding shopping list that didn't get anything checked off of it! Dang it...

Get your program...well, ALMOST!

Since Father Tom gave us the book to go through readings I have been slacking on picking them out. This morning I sat down and went to work. I've been using my cousin's program as a guide and when typing the readings into the wedding program I learned that they are VERY similar to the readings my cousin had at his wedding in June. Oh well I guess, hopefully the Schueth side is forgetful and don't feel that they are at a repetative ceremony! On the plus side, I have the wedding progams 90% complete, now if I could only figure out the music I'd be done!

Seriously!?

Originally when we set the date we knew it would interfere with Abbey's volleyball schedule at UNK, but told her we are more important. Well...as luck would have it her tenative schedule came out last week and there is NO GAME scheduled for October 9th. She will miss a game on October 8th, but she isn't too concerned about that! What was the luck that the Saturday we picked was the one Saturday of the season they'd have off!?

However, last night I was totally taken by surprise when I was informed that there is a Burwell football game scheduled for Saturday, October 9th at 4:00 pm in Elgin! ARE YOU SERIOUS!? In the years that Todd and I have been together I have known Burwell to have 1 maybe 2 Saturday games!

I guess we will wait and see how that pans out, because with a potential 3pm wedding in Ord and then 4pm game in Elgin we might only have to feed ourselves :)
