More Purchases!

Not much new to report. Did get a few purchases made in the last week. When Mom traveled to Norfolk, she picked up a few more cylinder vases to make centerpieces (pictured at left). I am borrowing some from a friend, but did purchase a few more! I am quite excited about how cheap and easy to make my centerpieces will be!

Today I did make a pretty big purchase. I ordered from two different online sources, all of the paper and envelopes to make the invitations and programs. The total price wasn't too bad, so I'm also excited to save a little money there making them myself!

We are hanging in limbo right now about our reception site. They are voting and deciding to tear down and rebuild the Burwell Legion. We just are not sure when this will happen. Hopefully they respect the fact that we have it reserved for October and will allow us to have our reception before moving forward with their plans. I guess if they wanted to hurry up and do it and complete it before October that would be awesome, but I do not see that happening! Time will tell as they have another meeting in March to make more plans!

Tonight, when Todd gets done with his coyote calling contest we are going to Kearney. I don't have a lot of plans for purchases that are related to the wedding but I will cruise Hobby Lobby to double check for bargains!

Horrible Dreams!

Last night I seemed to have dreamt all night long about the wedding! Although, I think I would call them more like nightmares! I remember one of them being that the photographer didn't show up. One was about how my dress got soo dirty cause it was muddy out.

This morning Todd's little brother, Scott, said that if the photographer doesn't show he will fill in!

Organist

Today I called and confirmed part of our wedding music...the organist. I choose Nancy Harpster, a lady I have known for years! I first met Nancy when I was a kid, her kids and I went to the same babysitter. Nancy was present throughout my school years as well, as she has been employed as the school secretary for as long as I can remember! She plays the piano for all of the important things at school, such as the music concerts and graduation! I couldn't imagine not having her at my wedding! I can't wait to discuss music options with her!

Class #3

Tonight we had our third class with Father. We went out to Pizza Hut prior to going, again making it a 'date-night'. We arrived a little before 8 and quickly sat down to start going over questions with Father. He had scored our test and we did quite well, matching 100% of the time on 6 categories! Our score on the "key questions" was 95%.

After we discussed the last question, Father got us some "homework." It is a book that has all of the possible readings and prayers for our wedding mass. He gave that too us, said fill this out and get it back to me sometime. He then said, 'well keep in touch.' Todd about LEAPED out of his chair asking, 'are we done?' Father reaffirmed that we were and we would keep in touch when the wedding date approached!

So...1 class of testing, 2 classes of discussion and we are done! I did feel a sense of relief to know that is done! Now onto more planning...

The Dress!

Today I am over in Burwell because Todd and I have wedding classes to go to tonight. I decided I would run up town this afternoon and see if my dress had come in yet (its been right at 11 weeks since I ordered it). When I got to the Bridal Loft Cindy said it had not come yet and that the shipping date was scheduled for February 26th. While sitting here watching TV this afternoon I received a phone call from a number I didn't know! I answered and much to my surprise it was Cindy! She said UPS stopped this afternoon and to her surprise she unwrapped my wedding dress! Of coarse I had to go up and see it right away (I tried to stay home for a little while, but about 20 minutes was all I could last)! It is BEAUTIFUL! I told Cindy that now October seems like so far away! I now know what people mean when they say they feel like a princess, cause I tried it on in the floral shop and already felt like one!

Tonight, Todd and I went to our second class with Father Tom. As with the first, I was nervous to go! We again made it into a little date night and went out to eat Pizza Palace buffett prior to going to Ord. We went to class for a longer time in hopes to not have to go so many times in the long run...let me tell you though, 2 hours of chatting it up about your relationship gets a little long! We are scheduled to go back Tuesday...hopefully its not too bad!

243 Days 'n Counting...

Wow, 243 days...I still don't feel stressed out! I think we are getting things done at a good pace. Last night I officially put Todd in charge of the dance music. He is to figure out what songs we need for all of the "important dances." He is continuing to rack his brain thinking about it. He initially came up with our first dance song being "I got 99 problems but a b*#(% ain't one." Oh my, could you imagine Todd dancing to a rap song :) The song he thought of for his mother/son dance is "What a Wonderful World"...the Kermit Frog version! Can't you just wait for our dance!?

I am also still adding to the guest list. I FINALLY received the additions from my mother (she's only had the list since December!). All I know is, if all of these people actually came we would probably go broke feeding them! Haha...

What else...oh yes, Todd and I are putting our own personal twist on the wedding program. You will have to wait til the big day to see what that is, but...we did get that finished last night! We have our second wedding class with Father Tom on Thursday! I believe that's all for now...

Second Minor Meltdown!

This last weekend we took off for our annual adventure to the Big Buck Classic with Sam & Kendra. We enjoyed it last year and have vowed to make it a yearly thing! Saturday is the day we dedicate to the Qwest Center to check out the vendors. Sam made some friends with an outfitter from Colorado last year, and was anxious to get back to talk to them and arrange for a mule deer hunt this year. We went up and down the aisles and finally ran into Wes and his wife at the Atkinson Expeditions booth. After visiting with them for an awhile, we left to go eat lunch. When we returned, Sam went to speak with Wes. After they spoke for almost two hours, Sam came back to us with the details of his trip. He was so excited, and told us he leaves October 9th. Todd and I both look at him and together say, "Are you kidding me?" It didn't phase him and he kept telling us about the adventure. Umm....WAIT A MINUTE! After getting him to listen we explained to him that as a member of the wedding party he can't miss the wedding! (Initially, we had to call Sam's mom to find out when their Africa trip was to set the date of the wedding.) Wes was still standing there talking to us and heard the controversy. He informed Sam that season is 17 days long and he can come out anytime during those days! So after a little discussion, Sam will probably leave either the 10th or 11th!

We also might be getting a 2 for 1 deal. Todd wants to go out there and shoot coyotes; Wes said he could shoot all that he could find! So now Todd and I might be headed to Colorado for a few days for our honeymoon! So overall, it was a good weekend!

Today it is back to reality, and back to work for me! I have spent the afternoon, however, working on wording and layouts for our wedding invites and programs. I am hoping that this summer Abbey and I can get them put together relatively easily if I have them all ready to go!
